近日，我国著名翻译家许渊冲被国际翻译家联盟授予“北极光”杰出文学翻译奖，成为首位获此奖的亚洲翻译家。许渊冲曾将《诗经》《唐诗三百首》等译成英法文。将“三民主义”译为of the people， for the people， by the people，惊艳全场。
Remarks at the Prize Awarding Ceremony

Dear colleagues，
Due to health reasons， I am not able to attend this important occasion， but I would like to say a few words through my colleague at Translators Association of China.
I feel deeply honored to be the first Chinese translator to receive the 2014 FIT Aurora Borealis Fiction Award. I take this not only as recognition of my personal work in translation， but also more interest in Chinese literature. I have always taken great pleasure in translating Chinese， English and French literature， and am still translating at the age of 93. I simply love it.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the juries for their hard work and kind words， thank my colleagues at FIT and TAC for their great support. And I wish the 20th FIT Congress every success！

尊敬的同仁：
因健康原因，我不能参加这个重要的活动，但我希望通过中国翻译协会的同事讲几句话。
作为第一个获此殊荣的中国翻译家，我深感荣幸。我认为这不仅仅是对我个人翻译工作的认可，也表明中国文学受到世界更多的关注。从事汉语、英语和法语文学的翻译对我而言一直是一种享受，93岁的我还在做翻译。我就是喜欢翻译。
我谨借此机会感谢评委们的辛勤工作，感谢国际译联和中国译协的同仁们给予的大力支持。祝第20届世界翻译大会取得成功！

许渊冲----诗译英法唯一人 ，北京大学教授，翻译家。
在国内外出版中、英、法文著译六十本，包括《诗经》、《楚辞》、《李白诗选》、《西厢记》、《红与黑》、《包法利夫人》、《追忆似水年华》等中外名著，是有史以来将中国历代诗词译成英、法韵文的唯一专家。1999年被提名为诺贝尔文学奖候选人。
